Sydney (NSW)
|
It was a bit of a shock being in a city in holiday mode, but we managed to settle in nicely in the comfort of Davie's plush harbour view apartment. |
We did the tourist thing, climbing and taking a photo by the harbour bridge. And ofcourse there was the catchup brunch with Marcus, Davie, Michelle and Gaby. |

Blue Mountains (NSW)
|
Before leaving for Melbourne, we went to the Blue Mountains for a night with Stu and stayed in this rustic house complete with open fire. |
We did the 'three sisters' and a knackering walk around the woodland area surrounding it. We ended up doing a few extra kms as we got lost, however the reward was a trip back to the top via the scenic railway as oppose to climbing the giant staircase. |
  |
A nice bit of stats - the railway length is 450m, with a vertical drop of 250m. The steepest incline is 52 degrees and the length of the natural tunnel that the train goes through is 80m. |
I enjoyed a bit of luxury while the lads slaved away in the kitchen, with Stu coming up with a gourmet roast dinner complete with SDP and custard, that's 'sticky date pudding'. The entertainment was a class game of scrabble which I let the boys win and one war movie. |
On our final morning before going back to the big smoke, we did a 5km hike to make up for the indulgence of the last week. |
